Welcome to Ian Kitchen

We welcome Rev Ian Kitchen to join us as the vicar of Elvington and the other parishes in the benefice. Ian joins us from near Easingwold, York.

On 13th March 2012, please join us at Wheldrake church at 7:30pm to welcome him to the benefice.

St Crux

Due to a mix-up of dates at St Crux, the Elvington St Crux date is now the 16th November. Please come along and support us at St Crux.

Church Auction

The annual auction will be in the village hall on 8th October.

Viewing from 9am, auction starts at 10.

Please donate any goods at the village hall between 2 and 7:30 on Friday 7th.

Back to Church (25th September)

Elvington is pleased to welcome everyone to a special service on Back to Church Sunday on 25th September 2011. The service starts at 10:30am with croissants, toast and coffee and should finish around 11:30. We will be asking "What is Church?", with some surprising answers. There will be children's activities as well as in-depth content. Please come along and find out what your local church is really all about. See also backtochurch.co.uk

Harvest

There will be a family harvest service in Elvington Church on 18th September, 10:30. Children especially are encouraged to bring gifts of food and other goods for Carecent York (see carecent.org) and any financial contributions will be sent to Farm Africa (www.farmafrica.org.uk). Please come along, celebrate the harvest and see how you can serve and support those in need.

Fathers day Family service

Family service on Fathers day this week (Sunday 19th June). Come along and test your knowledge about your Father, plus a look at what our heavenly Father has done for us on Trinity Sunday.

See the new poster for the Ampleforth Singers doing a concert (free admission) on 14th May in Elvington Church.

Elvington Church Fete: HELP WANTED!

Elvington Church Fete will be on the village green on 12th June 2011.

Please...we need items for the stalls:

  • Bric-a-brac, books, jigsaws, .... Anything that will sell
  • There will also be a plant stall. So bring your surplus plants or grow a few extra for us!
  • Don't forget the baking: why not bake something for the cake stall?
