The commissioning service of the Rivers Partnership by Bishop John will be on the 22nd at 6.30pm at St Helen Wheldrake.
The idea is that each church will be represented by something from that church like a banner or something similar.
These will be processed by a representative of each church at the beginning of the service. Then our first U8 at Escrick on the 30th of October with the Archdeacon.
The Rivers Partnership is the name of the group of 8 parishes that Jackie is in charge of, working closely together. It consists of our benefice of 5 parishes (Wheldrake, Elvington, Sutton, East Cottingwith, Thorganby) along with Escrick, Naburn and Stillingfleet.
What is this service like?
United Service
United services join the benefice of 5 churches, and once each month we join together in a united service, which rotates around the benefice. The services vary a bit in style, but usually have Holy Communion. Music is usually led by the organist.
